Patrick Mahomes Sr. is facing the possibility of prison time after being arrested in Tyler, Texas for driving while intoxicated on Saturday night.

News of Mahomes Sr.’s arrest was first noted by TMZ, having cited online records. TMZ also noted that this is at least the third instance where the father of Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

 

Per the New York Post, Mahomes Sr. was arrested and charged for driving while intoxicated back in 2018. As a result, he spent 40 days in prison over days weekends spread out through 2019 and 2020.

The Texas Department of Transportation notes that a third impaired driving offense carries a $10,000 fine, 2-10 years in prison and the loss of a driver’s license of up to two years.
