A$AP Rocky gives fans hope for a new album from Rihanna after she has been teasing it for years, and it is exciting.
While out in Paris, the 35-year-old rapper was asked by Rihanna fans to give an update on her ninth album, to which he replied, “She’s working on it.”
His response gained him cheers of excitement as eager fans shouted, “We love you, A$AP!”
The singer, who is now a mom of two, released her last album, Anti, in 2016, which features “Work,” “Needed Me,” and “Kiss It Better.” Throughout her career, she has won 9 Grammy awards, including her first award for “Umbrella,” and her most recent award for “Loyalty.”
Since taking a break from music, Rihanna has focused on other ventures. She’s founded multiple businesses including Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty, which have allowed her to reach billionaire status.
In January 2022, it was revealed the artist was expecting her first child with her partner, A$AP Rocky, after she debuted her baby bump in viral photos. Her first son, RZA, was born on May 13, 2022, and fans have enjoyed watching her blossom into a mother. Rihanna then performed at the 2023 Superbowl halftime show, where she revealed her second pregnancy with her son, Riot Rose.
Following her success with her businesses and her entrance into motherhood, some Rihanna fans were beginning to lose hope that she would ever make more music.
While some fans were giving up, others were patiently waiting for her to re-enter the music scene and dominate it like she used to with her multiple hit songs, including “Love on the Brain,” Diamonds,” and “Pon De Replay.”
In 2022, she blessed her fans with her latest song “Lift Me Up” which was made for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. “Lift Me Up” went on to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song in 2023.
The beauty mogul last updated fans on her album in December 2023 while promoting her collaboration at a Fenty X Puma event. She joked with interviewers, “I mean, I can’t tell you everything, girl. It’s giving crystal ball.”
