Watch the star wildly celebrating at the Olympics basketball match just hours before his arrest
US RAPPER Travis Scott is still “sobering up” in his jail cell following his arrest in Paris for an alleged drunken brawl with his bodyguard, say cops.
Scott, 33, is yet to be questioned by French cops over his involvement in the chaotic 5am hotel fight with officials saying the Utopia musician got drunk at the Paris Olympics.
The star – full name Jacques Bermon Webster – was seen sitting court side for the Olympic semi-final basketball contest between the US and Serbia on Thursday as he hyped up the crowd.
Footage of Scott at the Bercy Arena showed him alongside pal Quavo as the duo screamed and shouted as they watched the US progress to the final.
He can be seen jumping on his seat and even lifting up his top in the viral celebrations.
After returning to his five star hotel in Paris, Scott was then reportedly seen getting into an altercation with his own bodyguard.
The rapper was said to have been intoxicated when the brawl erupted inside the George V hotel near the Champs-Élysées.
Cops were called shortly after as Scott was hauled into custody, a police source told Valeurs Actuelles.
An investigating source later revealed the rapper was still feeling the effects of his drink hours after his arrest.
They said: “He was not in the right condition to be questioned straight away, so was put in a cell where he is still sobering up.”
A representative for the rapper has told The Sun: “We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate.”
The rapper has been in trouble with the law several times over the last few years with wild footage, exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, showing him being hauled away while he shouts in disbelief, earlier this year.
It followed his arrest for disorderly intoxication and trespassing in June.
A police report said he was “walking backward and yelling obscenities” while handcuffed and appeared “erratic” and “yelling.”
After the arrest, Scott mocked his own bleary-eyed mug shot on as he posted it online with the caption “lol”.
Days later, he released a T-shirt with his mugshot printed on it.
Travis will reportedly be going back to court on September 10.
The Astroworld artist has also been arrested twice for provoking his audiences to rush the stage in defiance of security measures.
The musician pleaded guilty to public disorder charges at concerts in 2015 and 2018.
Once at Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago before again three years later at Scott’s first Astroworld Festival in 2018.
Travis is well known for his rap career as well as being the father of Kylie Jenner’s, 26, two children Stormi, 6, and Aire, 2.
In the aftermath of his chaotic night at the Paris Olympics, US rapper Travis Scott finds himself behind bars, “sobering up” in a jail cell.
The 33-year-old musician, known as Jacques Bermon Webster, was reportedly involved in a drunken brawl with his bodyguard at a five-star hotel in Paris following the basketball match between the US and Serbia.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, saw Scott hyping up the crowd at the Bercy Arena with his friend Quavo before things took a turn for the worse. Reports suggest that Scott was heavily intoxicated when the altercation with his bodyguard broke out, leading to his arrest by French authorities.
Despite attempts to question Scott immediately after the incident, police decided to let him sober up in his holding cell before proceeding with the interrogation.
A representative for the rapper has assured the public that they are working closely with local authorities to resolve the matter swiftly and will provide updates as necessary. This is not the first time Scott has found himself on the wrong side of the law.
Earlier this year, he was arrested for disorderly intoxication and trespassing, with wild footage capturing his erratic behavior as he was taken into custody.
His legal troubles also include incidents where he incited his audiences to rush the stage, leading to charges of public disorder at various concerts.
Despite his run-ins with the law, Scott remains a prominent figure in the music industry, known for his rap career and his high-profile relationship with Kylie Jenner.
As he awaits his court date in September, fans and critics alike are left wondering about the future of this controversial yet influential artist. Stay tuned for more updates as the story unfolds.
