The 64-year-old TV host inititally took a short hiatus from her presenting duties after splitting up with her former This Morning host, Eamonn Holmes, also 64.
Ruth was last seen on the ITV magazine show on Tuesday afternoon, with her being absent yesterday (July 29).
However, a source has confirmed to the Mirror that this second absence was planned “for a long time”.
They told the publication: “Ruth is on a longstanding holiday that’s been in the diary for a long time.” It comes after her much awaited return to the ITV show was applauded by the studio audience, just a week ago.
While the audience made a fuss of her return, Ruth avoided addressing her comeback as she introduced the show’s topics as usual, reading from the autocue – While still wearing her wedding ring.
