Ruth Langsford is said to be battling ‘agonising guilt’ as she fears the public will think she has ‘abandoned’ her estranged husband Eamonn Holmes in his time of need as he continues to battle chronic pain

Ruth Langsford, the Loose Women star, is reportedly grappling with “agonising guilt” in light of her estranged husband’s ongoing health struggles. It’s said that she’s worried about appearing as if she’s “abandoned” her ex, Eamonn Holmes, who has been battling chronic pain and now relies on a wheelchair and walking frame.

Claims have emerged that Ruth is torn between assisting her former partner and embarking on a new chapter in her life. A source revealed to Bella magazine that Ruth feels “terribly guilty” and seeing recent photos of a “frail has been torture for her” Eamonn has been incredibly difficult for her.

The source added: “Even though she has every right to live her life and do what is right for her – she’s convinced the public will see her as abandoning Eamonn in his time of need as he struggles with his health.”

In 2016, Eamonn Holmes underwent a gruelling three-and-a-quarter-hour double-hip replacement operation after enduring acute pain for many years, reports the Express.

Eamonn opened up about his shingles battle in 2018, revealing he was hit with the virus on his son Declan’s wedding day.

During a stint on Loose Women in September 2021, he discussed his health struggle that left him unable to present This Morning three years prior. His ordeal with chronic back pain began unexpectedly in spring 2021.

He later found out it was due to three slipped discs affecting his right leg’s movement, forcing him to use a walking stick.

The following year, he had to take a break from his GB news show to undergo crucial back surgery to alleviate his chronic back pain. Just weeks later, Eamonn suffered a shoulder injury after tumbling down the stairs at his Surrey home.

Ruth Langsford continues to grapple with overwhelming feelings of guilt as her estranged husband Eamonn Holmes battles ongoing health challenges.

The fear of public perception weighs heavily on her as she navigates the delicate balance between supporting her ex-partner and moving forward with her own life.

Recent images of Eamonn relying on a wheelchair and walking frame have only intensified Ruth’s internal struggle, as she is torn between her loyalty to him and the need to prioritize her own well-being.

Despite having every right to focus on her own happiness, Ruth’s concern about being seen as abandoning Eamonn during his time of need is a constant source of anguish for her.

Friends of Ruth, recognizing her compassionate nature, have advised her to show herself more kindness during this period of transition and adjustment to her new reality

Eamonn, on the other hand, has expressed his desire for a future where the two can remain friends, acknowledging the complexities of their past 14-year marriage.

His recent health battles, including a double-hip replacement operation, shingles, chronic back pain, and a shoulder injury, have taken a toll on both him and Ruth.

As Ruth grapples with her own sense of duty and responsibility towards Eamonn, she is reminded of the challenges they have both faced together over the years.

The couple, who are both TV veterans, have been through numerous trials and tribulations, with Eamonn’s health struggles serving as a constant reminder of the strength of their bond. Despite their current separation, the hope for an amicable friendship in the future remains a glimmer of light amidst the darkness of uncertainty.

Moving forward, Ruth will continue to navigate the complexities of her relationship with Eamonn while prioritizing her own well-being and happiness.

The public scrutiny and judgment she may face are secondary to the internal struggle she faces every day, as she tries to find a balance between supporting her ex-husband and focusing on her own needs.

As she takes each day as it comes, Ruth remains hopeful that a future where both she and Eamonn can find peace and understanding is within reach.
