Comments made by Eamonn Holmes about his bedroom antics, or lack thereof, with Ruth Langsford, emerged in the wake of their divorce announcement.

The television power couple, both 64, confirmed over the weekend that, after 14 years of marriage, they were separating.

While their split is believed to have been “amicable” to the public, sources have claimed that their careers played a role, leading them in different directions.

As speculation mounts, given that neither party has explicitly commented on the split yet, insiders have claimed that Eamonn is “furious” about the split and that it has been “largely orchestrated by Ruth.”

The Mail on Sunday has revealed that the statement issued by spokespeople on Saturday was not a joint effort, claiming it was organized by Loose Women star Ruth. lime

Eamonn apparently “refused to get involved” because “Ruth can do whatever she wants, but keep me out of it.”

It has also been claimed that he made a crude joke to his friends about his sex life.

Eamonn allegedly joked to his friends that his physiotherapist has “touched” him a lot more than Ruth in recent years.

The GB News presenter has been undergoing physiotherapy since suffering agonizing back problems caused by herniated discs and a dislocated pelvis, which left him struggling to move without crutches or a cane.

A source added: “Ruth is on his case, telling him he should walk up, but he’s not intending to.”

“He is in a lot of pain all the time. It’s not that easy for him. lime

Additionally, the couple is believed to have been living separate lives for some time, long before making the news of their divorce public.

The former This Morning hosts, who have a son, Jack, born in 2002, are said to have spent “months trying to save their marriage”.

Unfortunately, Ruth was “determined to leave.”

Both Eamonn and Ruth have denied there were any problems in their relationship when asked in recent months, although people close to the exes estimate the marriage lasted at least a year.

‘The couple continue to live under the same roof but sleep in separate rooms, with Ruth increasingly acting more like a carer than a wife.

‘She runs around making him lunch despite their strained relationship.

“Meanwhile, he sits uncomfortably in a chair, his mobility limited by chronic back pain that has sometimes forced him to undergo daily physical therapy sessions.”

A source, who knows Irish TV personality Eamonn, also claimed that he became very angry when asked about his marriage because he was “struggling to accept” what was happening. lime

Eamonn and Ruth have become key faces of British television over the last decade.

They began presenting ITV daytime show This Morning together in 2006, before leaving the show in 2021 and being replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.

In the 2018 New Year Honours, Eamonn was made OBE for services to broadcasting and was congratulated by Ruth, who called him her “darling”.
