Lizzie Cundy has revealed some of her biggest showbiz secrets yet in a new interview on the My Dirty Laundry podcast. 

The former model, ex-WAG and mother-of-two, 56, spilled that she once enjoyed a night out with Tom Cruise after he skipped a movie premiere to get a bite to eat.

She said: ‘I used to be flown out to LA to interview the stars for ITV at red carpet events and I once interviewed Tom Cruise.

There was something that was going on, I was ‘mm-hmm’… I kept quiet. Now when I was on the red carpet [after that], he had one of his huge big movie premieres for The Edge of Tomorrow and he came first to talk to me.

‘I got a great interview and then after that I thought, I don’t want to see this movie. I can’t be bothered. I was with my son so I said “Let’s go for something to eat”.

‘I walk in the restaurant… Who do I see? Tom Cruise. He didn’t want to watch his own movie either.

‘So he does a whistle like that, because I’m walking to try and find a table. And he’s like, “Hey, hey, come over”.

And my son, who was outside… I’d left because I’d walked in the restaurant, came in to look for me and I’m sitting there with Tom Cruise and the director of the movie. And he bought us all dinner.’

During Lizzie’s latest interview, she revealed that she first met her now good friend Simon Cowell when he burst in on her while she was using the VIP loo in Cipriani’s.

She said: ‘There’s Simon standing there, I’m sitting on the loo and I’m like, ‘Nooo!’ And then he just talked normally. He went, “Do I know you?”

‘And I went, I said, “No, but I know you” And I thought, could you shut the door? I couldn’t believe it.

‘Anyway, I came out the door and then he said, “Right, come and join me for a drink over there”.

‘So yeah, but that is my story of how I met Simon, but that is a long time ago.’

Lizzie also talks about the time she was stopped by the police – but she was secretly hiding The Wrestler star Mickey Rourke in the boot of her car.

He had jumped in there after they enjoyed dinner together in Mayfair, so that he wouldn’t be seen.

She said: ‘He was like, “Lizzie, I’ve got a new girlfriend. The last thing I want to be seen is with you”. I took it as a compliment.

‘He had added: “Look, for your sake. She gets very angry.’

Lizzie added that she accidentally went through a traffic light change because she wasn’t used to her car’s horsepower and was stopped by the police.

She thought: ‘I thought, if they open the boot. What if Mickey Rourke is in there. Dead! What will they think?’
