Ben Affleck is busy helping his daughter Violet prepare for college.

However, Affleck “has been very focused on getting Violet ready for move-in,” a source tells PEOPLE.

The 18-year-old, eldest of the three kids he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, is starting classes soon at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

“It’s, of course, a huge deal for the whole family, and they’ve all been so excited the last few weeks,” the source adds.

For his birthday last week, Affleck received visits from both Garner, 52, and Lopez, 55, at his rental home in Brentwood, Calif.

Affleck and Garner, who divorced in 2018, also share Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, and Lopez is mom to 16-year-old twins Max and Emme, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

A source previously told PEOPLE Affleck’s “small birthday celebration at home” with his kids was “exactly what he wanted.” Added the source, “He didn’t want to go out to celebrate. The kids had gifts for him, and it was cute.”
