Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh has come under fire as she and Richard Madeley were accused of getting carried away during a heated political debate.

Tom Tugendhat was grilled on the ITV show mere hours after declaring his intention to run for the Conservative Party leadership.

Host Ranvir didn’t hold back as she confronted him about the catastrophic effects of Liz Truss’ mini-Budget on the British public.

“She crashed the economy as Prime Minister, and you backed her. That shows poor judgment.”

Mr Tugendhat attempted to deflect by stating “she’s not an MP anymore”, but then stressed: “Look, I have served in different governments in the recent years and I’ve served because I think the security of this country matters. And that is exactly what I was asked to do. And that’s exactly what I’ve delivered on.”

The Security Minister continued, outlining his vision: “What I’m trying to do is to make sure that we rebuild the trust that we need to be able to govern this country and serve the British people. And what we need to be doing is focusing on the challenges that are facing us in the future. Over the last three or four years, you’re absolutely right, we have failed to deliver. That’s exactly why I’m standing, because I think we need to unite this country. We need to rebuild that trust.”

Mr Tugendhat expressed his shock at Ms Truss’s tenure as PM, remarking that she had “demonstrated a recklessness that surprised all of us”.

Despite being eliminated from the summer 2022 leadership race, he threw his support behind Ms Truss, but fans were left discussing Ranvir and Richard’s constant interruptions during the interview.

One viewer said on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter: “For goodness sake Ranvir, will you let Tugendhat talk! He can’t give you answers if you keep interrupting,” while another swiped: “Screechy Ranvir.”
