Julian Gressel has detailed what it’s actually like training alongside Lionel Messi since joining Inter Miami.

The two-time MLS Cup champion joined the Herons this winter as one of Inter Miami’s most impressive coups of the January window, with Gressel one of the best and most consistent players in the entire division.

And Gressel has impressed since joining Inter Miami, with the versatile winger assisting Suarez twice on Saturday in the Florida franchise’s 5-0 win against state rivals Orlando City.

Now, speaking on the Player/Manager podcast, Gressel has detailed what it’s actually like to train alongside Messi, with the midfielder admitting that the experience is surreal.

As arguably the greatest to ever play the game, training alongside Messi is something every player on the planet dreams of doing at some stage in their career.

Yet for Gressel and the rest of the Inter Miami squad, this is now their reality, with the Argentine international making himself feel at home already in Florida.

Gressel said: “Every day in training there’s always something that makes me go ‘wow’. Even if it’s just a pass that I didn’t see was there, but it’s always something you have to appreciate.”
