ESPN’s Adam Schefter proposed a fascinating NFL trade idea that has sent social media into quite the frenzy.
On Sunday, the Washington Commanders hired former Arizona Cardinals and Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury to fill their offensive coordinator vacancy. This came three days after the Commanders hired ex-Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as their new head coach.
Schefter then started connecting the dots on a potential blockbuster trade that would have the Washington Commanders landing the top pick from the Chicago Bears so that they could select USC’s Caleb Williams:
Schefter’s message led to a plethora of priceless reactions from fans on X/Twitter:
Last year, the Bears traded the first overall pick to the Carolina Panthers for a massive haul. Part of the return included the Panthers’ 2024 first-round pick, which they certainly did not anticipate would end up being the top selection.
Williams, the consensus pick to go first overall in this year’s draft, threw for 3,633 yards and 30 touchdowns in his final season of college football.
