Legendary commentator Bob Costas has thrown shade at FOX News over the network’s criticism of Grammy Award-winning singer Taylor Swift.
Swift has been in a relationship with Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce for several months now. Their relationship has drawn plenty of media coverage, with Swift attending most of the Chiefs’ games throughout the 2023 season.
Speaking on Charles Barkley’s CNN program “King Charles” (h/t Brandon Contes of Awful Announcing), Costas called out the network and suggested they’d be a lot nicer towards Swift if she was wearing a “MAGA” hat:
“So, for people all of a sudden because they don’t like something about Taylor Swift. Either they don’t like the Chiefs or they’ve inferred that Taylor Swift might not be a Trumper. Then they’re annoyed by Taylor Swift. I can guarantee you, that all this news at Fox News would not be happening if she was wearing a MAGA hat. They would love it.”
Swift and Kelce have certainly done their part in blocking out the noise as a couple. Swift came onto the field to celebrate with Kelce and the Chiefs following their AFC Championship Game victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Swift has a concert in Tokyo, Japan, the night before Super Bowl 58. Tokyo is 17 hours ahead of Las Vegas, however, so Swift will have plenty of time to travel back to the U.S. to attend the big game.
Kelce and the Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58, a rematch of the big game from four years ago. With a win, Kansas City would become the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots.
