Taylor Swift is no stranger to tying or breaking the longstanding Billboard records of Pop music royalty.
In the past, she surpassed Queen of Pop Madonna for most overall Hot 100 top 10 hits among women, broken Janet Jackson‘s record for most Hot 100 top 10 hits from one album (among women), zipped past Whitney Houston for most cumulative weeks atop the Billboard 200, bumped Barbra Streisand from the top of the “women with the most Billboard 200 #1 hits” list, and more.
This week Swift added yet another milestone to her neverending tally of accomplishments that placed her squarely beside a legendary musical monarch.
The refreshed Billboard 200 sees Taylor occupying half of its top 10 slots with ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ (#1), ‘Midnights‘ (#3), ‘Folklore‘ (#5), ‘Lover‘ (#6) and ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ (#10) respectively.
Already in the all-genre chart’s history books for being the first female act to place four albums in the top 10 concurrently, she’s now the only living act to boast having five.
The first and only other artist to hold at least half of the highest 10 positions at the same time was Prince, who watched five of his titles take over the week after his death.
At writing, Taylor is also the only performer in history to have achieved the feat with studio albums only.
