Inter Miami owner David Beckham once said that acquiring Lionel Messi was ‘our gift to America and the MLS‘. Apparently that’s not how everyone sees it.

FOX Soccer analyst Alexi Lalas responded to a fan question asking if Miami have officially been established as 2024’s MLS villains.

‘Yup, @InterMiamiCF is must-see because of Messi…and they keep producing moments and results,’ Lalas replied.

‘The mark of a SuperClub™ is as many people want to see you fail as succeed…but they all want to see you.’

Inter Miami have already got off to a good start this season in MLS as well as their other competitions.

Alexi Lalas believes that Inter Miami are now the new villains of Major League Soccer

After just three games this season, Inter Miami are currently leading the MLS table

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have also led the team to CONCACAF Champions Cup success

After struggling in the league the season prior, they currently lead the league with seven points and one extra game played than the rest of MLS.

They’ve also made it to the Round of 16 for the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Last night, hey fought back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to rescue a draw with the return leg in Miami.

With the addition of Luis Suarez over the winter, Miami has become a serious contender for a league title and entered the season as one of the favorites to win the title.
